Here's the MLA intro video... Word Tutorial Video

Today we will write a short one page essay using MLA formatting. You must include a block quotation, a book title, and an appropriate title and header. We will use University of Purdue's website to learn the details of MLA. Here is the OWL link to OWL.

Sometimes it's easier just to look at a sample.... this MLA sample essay should be very valuable

Rhythm

Do you (like me) struggle with seeing God as abstract, distant, and removed?

How do you see the rhythm of God moving in your life?

What does it mean for you to live in tune with the song?

How have you heard "the song" playing in your life recently?

What is it that speaks to you about the character and nature of God? Where do you see it?
Examples could be a mother nursing her newborn child, a family gathering for a celebration, the lyrics of a popular artist, a particular piece of art work, etc....

May you come to see that the song is written on your heart and realize you are in relationship with the living God!

Getting to Know You Blog Post

I want to better get to know you. I'm only looking for a 2-5 minute introduction. I would like you to type it out and as if you were going to read it to the class ( we may or may not do this). If your Blog still isn't working (invalid error) save your work in a google doc and place it in your shard folder. I'd like to get a sense of who you are and what your voice is.  What injustices motivate you to action? What is the fight God has designed you to be in? What are you passionate about? How are you gifted compared to the rest of your peers. Not sure what to write? No problem ... here are some ideas to help get you started:
  • What are you passionate about?
  • What are some of your goals for the year? For your life?
  • What is the most important physical object in your life? (take a photo of it and bring it to class)
  • What is your greatest fear?
  • When have you been embarrassed?
  • When have you worked on a project and completely lost track of time?
  • What is your favorite flavor of Jello?
  • How do you remain upbeat while reading the news?
  • When have you witnessed injustice?
  • Why can't cows walk backwards down stairs?
  • What has been occupying your mind most recently?
  • If the plural of ox is oxen shouldn't the plural of paradox be paradoxen?
Rubric-
20 pts Follows instructions
20 pts Original, creative content
20 pts Grammatically sound sentences. Well Written.
20 pts Insightful, personally relevant information
20 pts Effot- if you finish with ten minutes left, you probably need to try harder.
